Day 2: Coming Into Los Angeles

Carrie, Sheila and I left Kitty Hawk Monday morning about 1045, passing Pat and Jan walking on Twiford. We met Shannon for lunch at TGI Friday's (even though it was Monday, they were still open). Sheila had a interesting "pre-flight" meal of barbecue pork with lots of tangy sauce; what was she thinking?

Check-in at Norfolk was easy, we had plenty of time and the security lines were non-existant; we were off to a good start. Thanks to Carrie and Shannon for helping with the baggage and check-in process and for hanging out with us before our flight.

Well we didn't really come in over the pole, we certainly didn't bring in any "keys" as if we would even know what one would look like and we didn't see any chickens flying, but we did see a lot of very HUGE men, NFLers on our flight to LA connecting through Atlanta from Indy after Sunday's game.

Note for Chris and Denny: We passed over your house about 2200 PST last night but from 36,000 feet couldn't see if the lights were on.

And, at 0230 EST, Tuesday, Feb 7th we were in fact "Coming Into Los Angeles"; so technically, Day 2 has begun. We'll get some sleep this morning and be ready to head out over the Pacific later tonight.
