It's Thursday morning Feb 9th, good morning from Australia.
This morning over the Pacific we crossed the Equator just southeast of Tarawa at about 1130 (EST Wednesday) and continued our flight observing sunrise over New Caledonia at about 1400 (EST Wednesday) followed by an on-time arrival into Sydney at about 0830 (Local Thursday). The flight was obviously long but relatively comfortable. Catching a Qantas connection we arrived in Melbourne around 1400 (Local Thursday).
Just to clarify the time zone and date line thing, Sydney and Melbourne are 16 hours later than the U.S. east coast; so noon in Kitty Hawk on Thursday equates to 0700 Friday morning here.
More to follow later.
Are you upside down cuz that's how they do things down under?
ReplyDeleteNick - I do believe that you are performing some "blonde" math down under... If Sydney is 16 hours ahead of Kitty Hawk, then wouldn't it be 0400 Friday? Either way, sleep seems to be required.
